The ride that changed everything.
Jennifer Crawford was five years old when horses changed her life. Years later, she found her special partner in Beau, an abandoned, severely underweight gelding. After six months of rehabilitation, Jennifer began riding him in 2018, quickly discovering his talent and dreaming of competing together.
That same year, a riding accident fractured Jennifer’s L1 and T12 vertebra, leaving her unable to move her legs. Doctors warned that walking again was unlikely. Determined to ride Beau again, Jennifer spent six weeks in spinal cord rehabilitation working toward one goal. Six months after her accident, she climbed back into the saddle.
Since then, Jennifer and Beau have continued to grow as a team, competing successfully in dressage and jumping. She competes in the Silver Series at Angelstone in the 0.8m and 0.9m divisions and has represented Para Equestrian sport at BreyerFest as part of the Para Showjumping North America Team.
Jennifer’s journey is a testament to perseverance, partnership, and the power of adaptive riding.
